Remodels
Opening physical spaces by removing walls in a structure is a popular trend in remodels. If a load-bearing wall that supports an upper floor or roof is removed, a correctly-sized beam must be integrated into the remodel plan depending on the span of the opening and the service loads to be supported.
The remodel plan must also address sufficient space for the depth of the new beam. An under-sized beam can sag or even fail causing damage to the structure and contents.
Nevins Engineering, PLLC can review remodel plans and provide design drawings with correctly-sized beams.
