Importance of a Foundation Evaluation

A residence or business structure is a large and important investment.  The foundation is the primary and most important component of the structure and issues surrounding the foundation can adversely affect the value of the investment. 

A foundation evaluation by a professional engineer can provide data regarding the current ability of the foundation to adequately support service loads. Areas of settlement or heave are identified.  After the engineering analysis, a conclusion is reached and recommendations are made to either improve lot drainage, monitor the foundation or relevel (or a combination of all three). 

A follow-up foundation evaluation can be performed 12-18 months later to assess further movement.  Nevins Engineering, PLLC provides an independent foundation evaluation which mean we are not trying to sell foundation repair services.
